Not sure what I think about Twas
I have seen at least 10 different Cirque du Soleil shows over the years and have enjoyed them all. Maybe it is the weight of what Cirque is about, with their high standards. The costumes were average, the music was average (and not live like most shows), performances were good and the stage set was lackluster. Twas the Night Before... was enjoyable, but did not impress. Regretfully they tried to put a big production on a little stage in the Chicago Theater, and it did not work that great. Cirque shows are always big productions, big costumes, big music, and dazzling performances. I have seen Ka and O, and these are huge productions. I have seen shows in tents in parking lots, and they have been impressive. Can I recommend? That is a tough call. I paid premium dollars for the main floor, maybe the cheaper seats up top I can recommend. Cirque du Soleil has never disappointed me, but this show did not impress me.
